TO ALL MEMBERS AND FRIENDS,
We must alert you to the difficulties, which, like most small businesses and non-profits, the DRSFA is also experiencing.
We are not permitted to have large group gatherings such as the flea markets & fund raising banquets, nor are we are unable to have the Shad Nights 50/50 drawing, store items for sale, or auction donated items.
We have had to maintain the ongoing costs of our insurance, transportation, Shad Tank, Shad in Schools program, meeting space rental fees, and many other items.
In short: WE HAVE NO INCOME EXCEPT YOUR DUES. During the past several years and especially during the pandemic, we have drawn heavily on our financial reserves, depleting them to levels of concern. We have already sacrificed the telephone hotline, membership card mailings, and the $100 we have been paying to SE-WY-C0 for each meeting night. These amenities won’t exist again until we can resume our fundraisers.
We do not want to increase our dues, and will again offer dues through the BI-State Shad Contest. However, we need more than dues. Currently, there is a nationwide movement to stimulate small businesses and organizations suffering from the pandemic.
WE ARE ASKING YOU, AS A CONCERNED MEMBER OR FRIEND, TO ASSIST US WITH A CONTRIBUTION TO EASE OUR PRESENT SITUATION AND HELP US TO MAINTAIN OUR OUTSTANDING RECORD OF SHAD IMPROVEMENT AND CONSERVATION ACTIVITIES. WE HAVE A PROUD HERITAGE TO UPHOLD!
We realize not everyone can easily do this, but consider all the times you would have bought something at our flea market, taken a 50/50 chance at a meeting, or contributed to a special project. This is some of the income we would receive in normal conditions. THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!!
