With the current craziness of the virus panic and ofter overreactions does anyone have any info on access closures? When the river drops a bit and warms up a few I would like to hit Martins Creek. I would hate to drive an hour only to see a chain across the drive. Thanks!!

To the dude earlier this week with the sea nymph and the bad o-ring on your fuel hose fitting. If you get into a pinch, I have a brand new spare if you need it. See photo. Reach out on this board, I check it regularly.

Joseph C, Not much good shoreline in Reiglesville. Lots of fast water through there but at the park where the creek meets the river there is a backwash there that they might rest in. Never tried it but always been curious. You’re better off down by cooks creek, there’s a little access there and some deeper water against the fast stuff that tends to hold a few walleye too.

Tony or anyone who knows: I've never been to Riegelsville. Is there anywhere to cast from shore thereabouts? I would be happy to give it a try to expand my knowledge of the river a bit. Thanks!
Joseph C. | Phoenixville, PA | Saturday March 28th 11:21 am
I swung by to check out my old favorite spot on the Schuylkill last Wednesday, and found that they have the MLK Blvd. closed to traffic for the duration. I'm sure there are fish in other places in that stretch of the river, but I don't feel like the +half mile walk to get to my preferred area. Ah, well, we must all make accommodations with our present reality. Maybe if I could find a one of those battery powered hoverboards...

Fished Riegelsville Thursday afternoon water was 42 degrees marked fish nothing would hit. Went to bulls island Friday water started at 45.9 and was 49.1 when I backed it in,landed 49 with some big roe mixed in. 41 of the 49 came casting,1 on a crankbait rig,4 on a torpedo rig,and 3 dead sticking. All on spoons, color didn’t matter size 1and2. Still sluggish marked a ton of fish, should have caught more with out casting.

@Riverwolf - I beg ya. Please bring back the shad hotline. It was actually a good luck charm for me on the drive up to the river and now I am 0-3 on outings this year. Hope all is well. Ill be back out Sunday again - Shad

I’m still batting a zero on Shad this year on 2 trips and the future forecast doesn’t bode well for these fish to really turn on. River staying chilly for now. Oh well, back at it tomorrow.

Next launch is tomorrow. Let’s see what happens in the middle D. Just a reminder to the young folks, wipe things down, keep distances. let’s do what we can to help us all in the covid age. Catch fish, not viruses! Will post how the R-ville stretch produces tomorrow.

Any reports from Conowingo dam yet?
Joseph C. | Phoenixville, PA and Ewing, NJ (with luck) | Wednesday March 25th 12:56 pm
Will the river be blown out on Tuesday from the rain???...…. You can check the USGS Delaware River Data pages for your own take on the situation. I look for Flow rates, Temps and sometimes Turbidity (how murky the water is.) You can't get pinpoint info for everywhere, but there are key monitoring locations like Easton and Trenton. There's also a site called Philly Rivercast which is location info specific to the Fairmount Dam. Good luck!

12 for 14 in Easton Friday late. 3 Roe, 2 small ones, 1 five pounds. 4:15 to 6:15.
She got a horse | Riegelsville | Friday March 20th 5:27 pm
Put in some time. Worked Riegelsville to Raubsville. No fish to boat. 2 people at the launch caught one each. 1 person on the run by the upstream island from the bridge got one. Used the camera again and set on three spots, nothing for me. I’m probably dry for a couple/few days...unless I hear numbers. Good luck party people.
Joseph C. | Phoenixvlle / Princeton | Friday March 20th 3:05 pm
I gave it a shot at Trenton before the wind picked up this morning. Not a bump. The tide was approaching full high and I'm told that the lower the tide the better there. The water was also a bit turbid from recent rains. If the water were a little warmer I don't think any of the above conditions would matter. Stay well all!

I’ll be out again tomorrow, I expect many will with warmer weather. With the run setting in, I’m taking this platform as an opportunity to encourage help. At our Riegelsville ramp, I will be wiping down the launch railings with a light (but effective sanitizer) as I’ve noticed a frequent older population using the opportunity to fish. Let’s all take care of each other! You younger folks, remember who you learn to fish from!!! We like to be outside, but we funnel into the same launch points. A quick wipe down will go a long way. I only say this after observation. Let’s do our part and have a safe and successful Shad season!!! Tight lines for many years to you all!!

Shad Fished yesterday for a few hours above new hope with no fish being caught
Joseph C. | Phoenixvlle / Princeton | Thursday March 19th 1:05 pm
1st, can somebody purge the board of that viarga crap, please? 2nd, I tried the very popular Trenton shad fishing location yesterday and saw my first fish landed and caught my first fish of the season. Unfortunately, the fish I caught (on a double dart rig) was a herring. I think that a little more sunshine and the right tide will bring the fish up to a higher activity level pretty quickly. I think tomorrow will be the day for my first shad!
She got a horse | Riegelsville | Thursday March 19th 8:16 am
Used a camera for over an hour drifting runs and channels before setting up. Saw only three Shad moving up the middle of the river and that was it. No fishes to the boat.

Yup. I'm rusty on this posting business. I forgot to put my name and location on my last couple posts. >>>>I know this is the "D" RFSA, but does anyone know about fishing the run on the Brandywine? WG? I read an article about how they are dismantling the dams to let the anadromous fish get back into the watershed.

3/16/20 fishing report- lower Susquehanna River. I fished Late afternoon 5-7 pm, went 4/7 on hickory shad and got a 30-inch striper (SEB) on a dart (ugh) :)....there were literally thousands of alewives spawning in the shallows! Nice to see them I’m good numbers again! Hickories caught on double darts. Forgot to check water temp

Late fishing report 3/13-3/15/2020- North Carolina. I got to fish last Friday- Sunday with my son and a friend in the Tar and Roanoke Rivers. We did well on the Tar 3/13 with all of s catching double digit American AND hickory shad. 3/24-3/15 we fished the Roanoke and between3 of us landed 315 hickory shad! Water temps in low 50s, shad caught on double dart rigs and some small spoons. The run in North Carolina is at the peak right now, has been crazy good in both numbers and size of shad.... let’s hope that trend translates to our run on the Delaware!

Holy Cow! This season has snuck up on me! I forgot to be checking water temps and reportsand now fish are being caught on my back doorstep in "the lower Delaware" (Mazel tov Bill!) My rod's not even in my car yet!
rudy529 | Bethlehem | Sunday March 15th 11:41 am
4-6 in Easton this morning, 10:30am again, all feisty Bucks. Seems like their "morning start" is delayed a little cause of the temps. But when they start, like clock work!! 3 straight cast's, fish on!
