Weird year so far;fished bulls island 3 weeks and caught 8,hit it again 2 weeks ago and got 14 more, fished Riegelsville this Monday,Wednesday,Friday and didn’t get a hit. Went back down to bulls island today and landed 37 more shad. The water temp has been 3 to 5 degrees warmer down there. Had 44.7 in reiglesville yesterday and 49.4 at bulls island today.

Put in some time. Worked Riegelsville to Raubsville. No fish to boat. 2 people at the launch caught one each. 1 person on the run by the upstream island from the bridge got one. Used the camera again and set on three spots, nothing for me. I’m probably dry for a couple/few days...unless I hear numbers. Good luck party people.

I gave it a shot at Trenton before the wind picked up this morning. Not a bump. The tide was approaching full high and I'm told that the lower the tide the better there. The water was also a bit turbid from recent rains. If the water were a little warmer I don't think any of the above conditions would matter.
Stay well all!

I’ll be out again tomorrow, I expect many will with warmer weather. With the run setting in, I’m taking this platform as an opportunity to encourage help. At our Riegelsville ramp, I will be wiping down the launch railings with a light (but effective sanitizer) as I’ve noticed a frequent older population using the opportunity to fish. Let’s all take care of each other! You younger folks, remember who you learn to fish from!!! We like to be outside, but we funnel into the same launch points. A quick wipe down will go a long way. I only say this after observation. Let’s do our part and have a safe and successful Shad season!!! Tight lines for many years to you all!!

1st, can somebody purge the board of that viarga crap, please?
2nd, I tried the very popular Trenton shad fishing location yesterday and saw my first fish landed and caught my first fish of the season. Unfortunately, the fish I caught (on a double dart rig) was a herring.
I think that a little more sunshine and the right tide will bring the fish up to a higher activity level pretty quickly.
I think tomorrow will be the day for my first shad!

Used a camera for over an hour drifting runs and channels before setting up. Saw only three Shad moving up the middle of the river and that was it. No fishes to the boat.

I fished Late afternoon 5-7 pm, went 4/7 on hickory shad and got a 30-inch striper (SEB) on a dart (ugh) :)....there were literally thousands of alewives spawning in the shallows! Nice to see them I’m good numbers again! Hickories caught on double darts. Forgot to check water temp

Late fishing report 3/13-3/15/2020- North Carolina. I got to fish last Friday- Sunday with my son and a friend in the Tar and Roanoke Rivers. We did well on the Tar 3/13 with all of s catching double digit American AND hickory shad. 3/24-3/15 we fished the Roanoke and between3 of us landed 315 hickory shad! Water temps in low 50s, shad caught on double dart rigs and some small spoons. The run in North Carolina is at the peak right now, has been crazy good in both numbers and size of shad.... let’s hope that trend translates to our run on the Delaware!

4-6 in Easton this morning, 10:30am again, all feisty Bucks.
Seems like their "morning start" is delayed a little cause of the temps.
But when they start, like clock work!! 3 straight cast's, fish on!

Thanks for the info about the Phillipsburg Ramp - you mentioned another site where most people post about the fishing - I thought this was that site - I can't find anything else searching for results. Miss the "Woofish" site since there seemed to be a lot more info on that site (although quite a bit of BS from some posters).

Parking not free in P-burg (unless something changed) - paid $35 last year for a season to park, but only managed to get out for 1 trip to Easton. Every time I was able to go, the river was running too high and had to cancel. Usually only able to make about 2 - 3 trips, anyway, so still kind of costly/trip.

The shad have been actively biting for the last two weeks, not a lot of fish but they hit when they come through. Averaging about 3 landed an hour. If your patient an in a good spot you will catch some. Water has been in lows 40s when I was fishing. It’s up to 47 now so the bite should be better. Finally for the guys asking I can assure you that some of the shad are up to and past Easton by now.

Dave, there's no reason to launch from the Easton side. No where to park and if you do you'll have to put money in the meter for both your truck and trailer. Launch on the P'burg side. Ramp is better and parking is free and Jimmies Hot Dog is there too.

DAVE, there is a public launch at Scott Park just downstream from the free bridge in Easton. This log seems to be superfluous as most all the DRSFA members post on the Delaware River Shad Fishing Reports site instead of this one (except for sales pitches)..

Someone had asked about any launch sites at Easton other than in NJ, but no one responded. Does that mean that there is no other place to launch and park on the PA side? I would be interested in knowing as well.

Have a few dates lined up next week for those anglers in need of shad spoons, bass tackle, reels, line and much more. I'll be at the Westaby Fire Hall in Bucks County at 6pm on Friday March 13 2020. On Sat March 14, 2020 I will be at the Hawghunters Flea Market in Allentown PA. Sunday March 15,2020 I will be at the last fishing flea market for me for the season at Sergeantsville Fire Hall in Delaware Twp NJ. This is a great event with over 90 vendors of new and used fishing tackle. Lots of bargains and deals to be had. Fly tying demos, door prizes and food available for purchase on site. Check out details for all of these events on ScottsBT Flea Market on Google. Hope to see you at one or all of these great shows.
